A Dreamy Fall Wedding at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge – Brendan & Kirsten

Brendan and Kirsten’s gorgeous fall Jasper Park Lodge wedding day was a long-awaited, joy-filled day. Their story is a special one – meeting for the first time as young travellers abroad, their relationship grew slowly over many years and continents. Brendan, originally from Australia but settled in London, and Kirsten, originally from Calgary, grew to love each other over time, even with the challenge of long distance (of which they spent three out of nine years of their romantic relationship apart).

Growing up, Kristen’s family had reunions at Jasper Park Lodge, so it was already a special place for her. Brendan and her also visited several times together over the years so the place just felt right – they couldn’t think of anywhere else to have their Japser Park Lodge wedding. If you haven’t had the pleasure of staying, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is situated on 700 acres in the Canadian Rocky Mountains in Jasper National Park. The grounds feature chalet-style cabins and guest rooms, with that classic, well-preserved vintage feel and breathtaking views of lake, forest and mountains. The main lodge has a very mid-century modern, “Mad Men” feel. It’s like it’s been taken out of a well-curated Canadian art history book.

When the pandemic interrupted Brendan and Kirsten’s plans, they persevered in keeping the course – enjoyed a simple, but beautiful legal ceremony in the UK with just six of their friends, but maintained their plans for their celebration with all their favourite people in their happy place across the Atlantic. And they are so thankful they did.

Their wedding day went without a hitch – even the temperature, for a mountain venue in Canada in October, was unseasonably enjoyable. Kristen and her ladies got ready in Pointe Cabin at one end of Japser Park Lodge’s grounds while Brendan and his men got ready in the Stanley Thompson Cabin across the property. Kristen finally got to wear her Halfpenny London Mayfair statement gown and Brendan his custom velvet dark green tuxedo by Richard James. Surrounded by a dreamy floral palette by Fabloomosity, the couple shared a heartfelt ceremony with family and friends, of whom travelled from all corners of the world to be there.

Brendan and Kirsten wanted their memories from their wedding to be a reflection of their connections to those they love the most, blended with the breathtaking views and charm of their favourite place. It was truly the best celebration – from gorgeous handmade signage to colourful vintage tableware collected over years by the bride’s mom, to a dance party that won’t be forgotten. Brendan and Kirsten’s wedding was magical. Enjoy this Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge wedding in all the soft autumn palette glory!
